For years the craft materials in our home have multiplied, taking over areas meant for, according to Rudy, humans. Scrapbooking embellishments that only took up residence in one small container now ruled their own village. Yarn exploded from one basket to a small dresser, while needles & hooks left their tidy little holders to fill vases stashed throughout the house.
While I love to organize, my materials don't always like to go home after being out in the wild as I created my masterpieces. Those rascally supplies had better learn to behave or Rudy's going to evict them!
Soon Rudy began to appreciate that my creations might be destined for more than Christmas gifts to relatives. He even encouraged me to *gasp* buy more supplies!
After taking stock in our combined talents, abilities, & temperaments, we decided to offer jewelry supplies and MR Jewelry Supplies was born.
Rudy has experience supervising a warehouse floor, including everything logistics - so tracking our inventory would be a snap. He is also extremely customer service oriented, that's why our customer service is fit for royalty! And living just below the Queen City (Charlotte, NC), that's important!
I have a degree in accounting and use the skills I learned for all the paperwork that a business inevitably brings. I still creates fabulous crafts of all kinds, but there is a flaw in my creativity - once I make one, I'm done! For example, if I design & create a beautiful bracelet that everyone loves, I want to move on to the next design instead of making more of the same. So, generally, my creations are still cherished gifts to friends & relatives. And that's how we decided to focus on providing supplies!
Of course there are always exceptions, and from time to time we will offer certain finished handmade items. Stitch markers are one example. Maybe I don't mind making so many of those because I keep losing my own? I learned early on to think of stitch markers as disposable necessities!
